Co-op membership can pay for itself in one shop

Co-op member offers including first-shop cashback, milk prices and meal deals

Co-op’s current member offers include an £8 Indian meal deal, three frozen items for £6 and lower member prices on everyday essentials, subject to local stock.

The Co-op charges £1 to become a member. For new members, that £1 can currently come straight back: Co-op says you get £1 back on your first shop in store when you select the personalised offer. That is a one-off first-shop offer — not £1 off every shop.

Current advertised member deals include an Indian meal for two — one main and two sides — for £8, three selected frozen products for £6, and selected pizzas for £4. Co-op says these offers run until 6 October 2026 and are available only in selected stores while stocks last.

Milk is also cheaper for members on some lines, but there is no blanket “50p off milk” offer. Co-op currently lists four pints of semi-skimmed milk at £1.65 for members against £1.95 for non-members, a 30p saving. Its 2-litre filtered semi-skimmed milk is £1.75 for members against £2.30 for non-members, a 55p saving. A one-pint semi-skimmed bottle is 85p for members against 95p for non-members.

Those milk prices form part of Co-op’s Aldi Price Match scheme for members. Co-op says it checks Aldi prices twice a week and updates its own prices weekly, although changes can take two weeks to reach stores.

The wider member-price scheme also covers other everyday products. The exact range varies by store, so the useful rule is simple: scan the membership card and look for the member-price or Aldi Price Match label rather than assuming every product is discounted.

For Sandwich shoppers, the local Co-op is at Moat Sole Road, CT13 9AL. Co-op’s own terms warn that products and member prices are subject to availability and participating stores, so this is best treated as a guide to what to look for rather than a guarantee that every item will be on the shelf.
