The best laid plans of mice and Sandwich Town Council.
A reported £1.2 million pounds was paid to transform Sandwich Guildhall Forecourt into something that was to provide services that previously were apparently not available. Notably: shelter and seating for bus passengers, safe passage for pedestrians unable to walk on cobbles without tripping over and not least a view in keeping with this medieval town.
A plan was submitted and accepted and a debt was established for my lifetime at least. Look at this wonderful plan and weep.

Weep because the rumour has it that not all as it seems and the plan may just be an idea that Sandwich Town Council couldn’t afford after all. Well at least the cobbles will now be gone, to who knows where. Pedestrians are now safe from wobbly cobbles – or are they?
