It would be nice if some speak could speak up or and get rid of the noise in the back ground It is really nice to watch and listen to the meeting just sad the sound isn’t good enough x I don’t have any hearing problems it must be so bad for people who have?
I agree, who knows perhaps when the council have paid for the Guildhall forecourt they could set up their own recording system instead of leaving it to a volunteer.
Sadly a number of councillors have very soft voices and it is difficult to hear them even when in the same room. The background noise is largely due to the heat requiring the windows to be open and a couple of fans in use too. The background noise will diminish as the weather cools and these measures are no longer required.
I completely agree that it is difficult to listen to the videos, and the acoustics in some of the other meeting rooms are even worse than this one. I find that using headphones when viewing helps a great deal.
STC have started filming their own videos but the results remain very hit and miss, with a failure rate near 50%, so we are nowhere near a switchover to their service. I have asked councillors to review their efforts and received a response from the Mayor that they are on to it. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait much longer.
